"UIF Registered" is one of the decline reasons SASSA shows on the SRD status page.
What "uif registered" means
The Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) database shows you as employed, as registered by an employer, or as receiving UIF benefits.
It applies to that month only. SASSA checks again every month, so you can still be approved later. Check every month on the SASSA status check.
Common causes
- You're currently employed and your employer declares you to UIF
- You're receiving UIF benefits
- A past employer never deregistered you after you left
How to fix it
If you no longer work there, ask the former employer to update UIF records, or visit a Department of Employment and Labour office with proof you left. Then appeal the month. If you're receiving UIF, the decline is correct until those payments stop.
Keep your resignation or dismissal letter and your last payslip. They help both with the Labour department and with your appeal.
How to appeal
- Go to srd.sassa.gov.za and open Appeals.
- Enter your ID and phone number, then the SMS PIN.
- Choose the declined month and the reason that matches your situation.
- Submit within 90 days of the decision, then track your appeal.
